Frank Watene

Frank is a retired professional rugby league player. Having moved to England over 20 years ago he has held concurrent roles as a community delivery manager across Yorkshire, winning awards with both Dewsbury RLFC and Halifax RLFC for contributions to communities. 

Frank changed careers and held several operational roles for Delta Force Paintball UK and Europe. He is currently a training manager for St John Ambulance.

Martin Flynn

I have extensive experience of strategic sport development and delivery at local community, Regional and National level. With a proven ability to work across diverse agendas or specifically within one subject, my success has relied on my in depth understanding and expertise of factors affecting sport. Factors such as barriers to increasing participation growth and sustainability.

My experiences include

  • 7 years Operations Manager in Local Authority Leisure Services
  • 11 years Regional Development Manager for Rugby Football League
  • 3 years CEO of a Semi-professional Rugby League Club
  • 10 years Director of North Yorkshire Sport (County Sports Partnership)
  • Rugby League Player, Match Official, Coach, Coach Educator, Administrator

Martin Uttley

It has been my pleasure to support my hometown team for over 40 years and as a sponsor over many of the last 17 years. I have been a trustee for the Foundation for over three years whilst continuing to run my own local business in Pye Nest where I have worked for over 32 years. I have also been a committee member and fund raiser for the Parkinson’s Society Halifax Branch for over 11 years. 

Jaswant Singh Chatha

Born in India, 56 years old when to Heath Grammar School and played rugby at many local rugby clubs including Halifax RLFC Colts/reserves and Halifax Rugby Union club. His family is well known locally for their retail business and are now a national and international business. Jas has also been involved in many local charities, acting as a fundraiser and trustee, raising funds for the charities and also donating fund for equipment such as de-fibs within our communities

Now into developing and renovation properties throughout West Yorkshire. Jas now 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Jas is happy to be involved in making people’s lives better and currently promoting “The Bearded Runner” mental health awareness programme
