Halifax RLFC Heritage Lunch club

Formed on the back of our successful Heritage Lottery funded project, Thrum Hall XIII. We hold monthly events at a local venue in Calderdale where each attendee gets a 2-course meal and a guest speaker from Halifax RLFC’s past talks about their time and memories playing and being involved at Halifax RLFC. The cost is £3.99 per person.
The Club is aimed at over 50’s but is open to all, and welcoming to those with memory issues and other disabilities. We regularly have over 35 attendees each month, mostly being over 60’s, which helps with isolation issues and improves mental wellbeing through our heritage talks. We have got former Halifax players attending on a regular basis which has resulted in them re-engaging with former teammates that they haven’t had any contact with for years since they left the club.
