October half term Healthy Holidays

We once again delivered our October half term Healthy Holidays provision last week at the Shay Stadium.

Our children who attended did activities such as football, rugby, tag rugby, basketball, netball, dodgeball, kurling, pétanque, boccia and skittles.

We also played bingo, had Lego workshop, build structures out of dried spaghetti and marshmallows, played giant connect 4, had a Halloween colouring competition and did pumpkin carving.

Each day the children had a hot meal, including Jacket Potatoes, Chicken Fajitas, Sausage and mash and chicken curry & rice. Over 40 meals were made available to take away for other members of the family to enjoy at home.

We had a visit for members of the Halifax Fire brigade with an engine. The firefighters spoke to our children about fire safety then held a Q&A session. The children were then showed around the fire engine until an emergency call came in the firefighters had to leave, hopefully nothing serious. Massive thanks to all involved at the Fire Station for this, if was enjoyed by all.

We welcomed 4 new volunteer staff to our provision and are always on the lookout for anyone who may want experience of working with children.

We are running our next Healthy Holiday session over the Christmas holidays with the dates as follows

Monday 23rd December

Tuesday 24th December

Monday 30th December

Tuesday 31st December

All sessions are 10am until 2pm. Booking details to follow on our social media platforms.
