CCCT secure Heritage Lottery funding

Calderdale Community Coaching Trust awarded £92,829 to celebrate the heritage of amateur rugby league

The Calderdale Community Coaching Trust are pleased to announce that they have been successful in securing funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fundfor ‘The History of Halifax & District Amateur Rugby League’.

The Calderdale Community Coaching Trust has received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £92, 829 for an exciting new heritage project,’ The History of Halifax & District Amateur Rugby League’.

Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, the project focuses on all our community clubs, past and present.

The project will enable a heritage officer, who we will employ to chart the history of local amateur rugby league, with plans for a virtual museum as well as roadshows to our community clubs in Calderdale.

The Calderdale Community Coaching Trust is an organisation that has been active throughout the Calderdale area since its formation as a charity in May 2007. This will be the second National Lottery Heritage fund project following our successful Thrum Hall X111 project.

Chairman of the CCCT, Martin Flynn says “We are delighted to receive funding for this exciting project and very grateful for the support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for their support. We look forward to working with, and sharing the memories of, Calderdale amateur rugby league clubs past and present”.

Trustee and founder of the CCCT, Malcolm Kielty MBE says it makes me feel proud to be associated with the Trust, given all the existing positive social impact work it maintains with a minimal workforce. This is just another example of the positive work in the community that the Trust does”.
